Knoxville, TN (WOKI) – MEDIC Regional Blood Center is encouraging East Tennesseans to give the gift of life this summer with a series of special donor incentives throughout June.
All month long, donors will receive a special edition beach towel, along with various coupons. Additional promotions include Knoxville Smokies game vouchers from June 1st through 7th, backpacks for World Blood Donor Day on June 14th and 15th, and Ripley’s Aquarium tickets on June 29th and 30th.
Platelet donors will also receive a $50 e-gift card for their donation.
MEDIC says summer is a critical time for blood donations, noting it takes at least three days to process blood products before they can be used in emergencies.
Donations can be made at any MEDIC donor center or mobile drive. Appointments are available at medicblood.org, through the MEDIC app, or by calling 865-524-3074. Walk-ins are welcome.
MEDIC supplies blood products to 24 hospitals across 23 counties, including UT Medical Center, Covenant Health facilities, and surrounding regional hospitals.
