Knoxville, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation is inviting the public to weigh in on proposed options for the West Knox Corridor project, which could impact parts of Knox, Anderson and Loudon counties.
The project focuses on improving traffic flow along a 17-mile stretch of Interstate 40 and Interstate 75 in West Knoxville, where congestion has been a growing concern.
TDOT is currently considering several options, including improvements to key interchanges at Watt Road and Campbell Station Road, potential changes to existing weigh stations, and the addition of a choice lane. The agency is also exploring the possibility of constructing a bypass in Anderson County.
Anderson County Mayor Terry Frank said multiple public meetings are being held to give residents an opportunity to share feedback and concerns directly with state highway officials.
The meetings are part of an ongoing planning effort as TDOT works to identify the most effective solutions for long-term traffic needs in the region.
