HAMBLEN COUNTY, Tenn. (WOKI) — The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two residents found inside a home Sunday night in what officials believe is an apparent murder-suicide.
Deputies were dispatched around 8:45 p.m. on June 21 to a home in western Hamblen County, where they discovered two deceased individuals. Authorities identified them as 51-year-old James Hunt and 49-year-old Beverly Hunt.
Investigators also found a family pet dead from a gunshot wound inside the residence.
Sheriff Chad Mullins said autopsies will be conducted to determine the exact cause and manner of death for both individuals.
“This appears to be an isolated incident, but if anyone has any information that could assist our investigators, please contact the Sheriff’s Office,” Mullins said.
