BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – A motorcyclist is injured following a crash involving a bear Friday evening in Blount County, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Troopers say a 69-year-old woman from Maryland was riding along the 6100 block of East Lamar Alexander Parkway when she lost control of her motorcycle, went into a skid, and came to rest in the middle of the roadway.
Investigators say a witness, who did not remain at the scene, later told the rider’s significant other that the crash happened after she struck a bear. The animal reportedly ran away following the collision.
The motorcyclist was injured in the crash, but officials say the extent of her injuries has not been released.
