KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – Knoxville Police are investigating a crash near Interstate 275 that left one person in critical condition Sunday morning.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers responded just after 10:30 a.m. to a crash at Woodland Avenue at I-275 North.
When officers arrived, they found one of the drivers involved suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. That person was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Investigators have not released additional details about the crash or the events leading up to the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
