KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI May 19, 2026) – Dogwood Arts is launching its first-ever Knoxwalls Murals & Music Festival, a free one-day event celebrating art, music, and community in North Knoxville’s historic Emory Place.
The festival takes place Saturday, May 30, from noon until 8 p.m., transforming the area into an open-air art gallery with 10 muralists painting live throughout the day. Attendees can enjoy food trucks, vendors, interactive art activities, and a community mural experience sponsored by POSCA.
Festivalgoers will also play a key role in shaping Knoxville’s public art scene by voting for their favorite artists. The top two muralists will receive commissions for permanent murals in the city. All 10 pieces created during the event will later be auctioned online.
The event also includes a crowd-favorite MuuMuu Contest, encouraging creative and fun outfits, with registration available online.
Entertainment lineup includes:
- 12 p.m. — Daniel Fluitt of Thrift Store Cowboys
- 1 p.m. — Knox County Jug Stompers
- 2 p.m. — MuuMuu Contest (hosted by Erin Donovan)
- 2:45 p.m. — Sarrenna
- 4 p.m. — Russell Walker with honky tonk dance lessons
- 5:45 p.m. — Trisha Gene Brady
- 7 p.m. — Mic Harrison and the High Score
- 7:45 p.m. — Awards announcement
Organizers say the event builds on the success of Dogwood Arts’ mural program, which has added more than 60 murals across East Tennessee since 2019.
