Knoxville, TN (WOKI / WVLT) — As excitement builds for the Savannah Bananas’ sold-out appearances in Knoxville, city officials are warning fans to be cautious of parking scams.
The City of Knoxville says it does not pre-sell parking for any city-owned garages. The warning comes after a photo circulated online appearing to show a ticket site offering parking spaces for as much as $200. City leaders flagged the listing as a scam, reminding visitors that all downtown garage parking is pay-at-the-gate only.
Fans First Entertainment, the company behind the Savannah Bananas, says it does not operate or manage parking for the events. Instead, fans are encouraged to use official parking guides provided through Visit Knoxville for both downtown and Covenant Health Park locations.
The Savannah Bananas will face the Texas Tailgaters in two highly anticipated games — Thursday at Covenant Health Park and Saturday at Neyland Stadium. The University of Tennessee says Saturday’s game marks the first time Banana Ball has been played in Knoxville and the first baseball game ever hosted inside Neyland Stadium.
With large crowds expected, the University of Tennessee is implementing a revised traffic pattern designed to improve traffic flow after major events. The system was previously used following the Luke Combs concert on campus.
Officials are urging attendees to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and verify parking details through trusted sources to avoid potential scams.
