Sevier County, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – The American Eagle Foundation is continuing its search for two bald eagles that went missing after overnight storms at Dollywood’s Eagle Mountain Sanctuary in April.
Officials say Rockland has recently been spotted multiple times in the Karns area, including around the Glenlake subdivision. Photos and videos shared by the public have helped confirm those sightings, though crews say the eagle often moves before they are able to respond.
Meanwhile, potential sightings of Wesley have been reported near Pigeon Forge, not far from Dollywood. However, officials say none have been confirmed, as the eagle has not been clearly identified by her smaller black tracking band.
The foundation says both birds are non-releasable, meaning they depend on human care and are not equipped to survive fully in the wild long term.
Staff members continue to follow up on credible reports and are urging the public to keep sharing information. Photos and videos, in particular, are critical in helping confirm the eagles’ identities and track their movements.
Anyone who spots either bird is encouraged to report it to the American Eagle Foundation.
