KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) — MEDIC Regional Blood Center is showing appreciation for East Tennessee blood donors with a week of special incentives, including concert tickets, Dollywood passes and a limited-edition Dolly Parton-themed t-shirt.
Beginning September 21 and continuing through September 25, all donors who give blood at a MEDIC donor center or mobile blood drive will be automatically entered to win a pair of Dollywood tickets. MEDIC says a pair of tickets will be awarded at every blood drive and at donor centers each day during the promotion, totaling 50 pairs of tickets.
Donors who give blood between September 21 and September 23 will also be automatically entered into a drawing for floor seats to the Ella Langley concert scheduled for September 24.
The incentives continue on September 25, when donors will receive a special edition “9 to 5” Dolly Parton-themed shirt while supplies last. Shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
MEDIC is also encouraging donors to support childhood literacy. Donors may choose to “Skip the Gift,” allowing MEDIC to donate $5 for each skipped shirt to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library during September and October.
Officials say September is a special time in East Tennessee and the promotion is designed to thank the thousands of area residents who help maintain the region’s blood supply.
Appointments are encouraged but not required. Donors can find donor center information, mobile blood drive locations and appointment scheduling at www.medicblood.org.
