KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — The Knoxville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man accused of following a woman to her apartment and repeatedly banging on her door at a student housing complex near the University of Tennessee.
According to KPD, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Sept. 2 at The Standard at Knoxville, a student-focused apartment complex located near the UT campus.
Investigators said the suspect entered the apartment building and followed a woman to her residence inside the complex. After the woman entered her apartment, the man allegedly remained outside her door and banged on it for several minutes before leaving the area.
Police described the individual as wearing a blue shirt, red shorts and a dark-colored hat at the time of the incident.
The Standard at Knoxville primarily serves students and is located just minutes from the University of Tennessee campus.
KPD has released information about the case in hopes that someone in the community may recognize the individual and provide investigators with information about his identity.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding any potential charges or whether the suspect had any prior connection to the victim.
