CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — A rockslide caused by heavy rainfall forced the closure of a Campbell County roadway Sunday afternoon.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation says the slide happened just before 4 p.m. along State Route 90 after storms moved through the region.
The roadway was shut down as crews worked to assess the damage and clear debris.
TDOT expects the road to reopen Sunday evening.
The rockslide is one of several impacts reported across East Tennessee following heavy rain and flooding, which also affected parts of Knox, Jefferson, and surrounding counties.
