KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – Knox County Schools Director of Communications Carly Harrington said that the Knox County Sheriff’s Office was called to Gibbs High School Tuesday morning after an “health concern.”
Harrington said the “health concern” happened around 9 a.m. at Gibbs High School. Jeffery Bagwell, a Rural Metro captain, confirmed a crew responded to the school for a possible overdose.
In an update Tuesday afternoon from Kimberly Glenn with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, the incident involved five students who allegedly used two vape pens.
“The vape devices (two) have been collected and will be tested for the presence of THC,” Glenn said in a statement. “The investigation into the incident remains ongoing and is being led by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.”
