U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect Accused of Assaulting Woman at Knoxville Apartment in Mississippi

Knoxville, TN (WOKI) UPDATE 5/28: A Bean Station man wanted for attempted second-degree murder in connection to assaulting a woman at a Knoxville apartment is arrested Wednesday afternoon in Mississippi.

Knoxville police say 21-year-old Ethan Johnston was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Meridian, Mississippi. Johnston was on a Greyhound bus when he was found and taken into custody. KPD says he will be extradited back to Knoxville in the coming days.

A warrant charging Johnston with attempted second-degree murder had been issued following an alleged assault Saturday at an apartment at Union Knoxville which left a 20-year-old woman with significant injuries to her head and neck.

KPD says 21 year-old Ethan Johnston of Bean Station has a warrant is on file charging him with attempted second-degree murder in the May 24th incident at the Cumberland Avenue location.

Johnston reportedly assaulted a 20-year-old woman in an apartment, she sustained significant injuries to her face.
