An Investigation is Underway Following West Knoxville Fire which Destroys a Family’s Home

The Knoxville Fire Department is investigating an early morning (Monday) fire in West Knoxville that leaves seven people and a dog displaced.

Crews called to 1710 Helmbolt Road and determined it would be a defensive fire, meaning that the fire was too large for crews to enter the structure.

A detached garage also caught fire.
All the residents escaped without injury and that home is a total loss.

The home had working smoke detectors and the American Red Cross is assisting the family.
