A Johnson City man is arrested after carjacking his Uber driver at gunpoint.

Officials said the carjacking happened on Strawberry Plains Pike when an officer saw a strange altercation.

Officials said the carjacker, Yeabsiri Hagg stole the car at gunpoint and began to drive the car at a high rate of speed down Asheville Highway.

Hagg was charged with aggravated assault, carjacking, driving on a suspended license, possessing a firearm to go armed and reckless endangerment. Officers were unable to find the gun he used, because he may have thrown it out the window.
