Knoxville Police officers say a man barricaded himself inside a home in the 3700 block of Dance Avenue in West Knoxville Tuesday afternoon. A witness on the scene told our news partner, WVLT News, that police approached the house when they saw the man on the roof with a weapon. After they made contact, the man moved inside the house and has not come out, they said.

Special Operations Squad personnel and KPD Negotiators are also on scene. People are asked to avoid the area.
