Sen. McConnell, 82, Falls Twice Outside Senate Chamber

Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., 82, fell twice outside the Senate chamber Wednesday but he appears to be OK, Newsweek reported, citing multiple media outlets.

Chad Pergram, a senior congressional correspondent for Fox News, posted on X that McConnell fell down a set of stairs after voting to confirm Scott Turner as President Donald Trump’s Secretary for Housing and Urban Development. McConnell was helped up by Sens. Steve Daines, R-Mont., and Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., and appeared to be OK.

Igor Bobic, a senior political reporter at HuffPost, wrote on X that McConnell, who resigned last year as the Senate’s top Republican after a nearly two-decade run, fell again after being helped to his feet.
