Rep. Van Duyne to Newsmax: Medicaid Reform ‘Common Sense’

Following the passage of President Donald Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” many Democrats have accused the GOP of putting millions of lives at risk due to cuts in Medicaid. Rep. Beth Van Duyne, R-Texas, told Newsmax on Saturday that Republicans are looking to conserve Medicaid dollars “for those who need it most.”

“These programs, as they continue to expand, are unsustainable,” Van Duyne said during an appearance on “America Right Now.”

When we look at what we did for Medicaid … what we said was that you should not be on this program. We need to get you off so that we can afford to have the folks who are the most vulnerable stay on this program.
