JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — A new festival is underway in Jefferson City as the Mossy Creek Foundation kicks off its inaugural Creek Fest.
The two-day event, running Friday and Saturday, is designed to showcase the city’s growth and ongoing revitalization efforts centered around Mossy Creek.
Organizers say the festival features a wide range of activities for all ages, including a 5K run and walk, a duck race, live music, food trucks, vendors, a beer garden and other family-friendly programming.
Many of the signature events, including the 5K and duck race, are scheduled for Saturday and are expected to draw large crowds.
Foundation President Tommy Clapp said the festival is meant to highlight not only the area’s natural beauty but also the progress Jefferson City has made in recent years.
Leaders say Mossy Creek has played an important role in economic development, helping to drive downtown revitalization and create new opportunities for the community.
Residents and visitors are invited to participate in events or simply enjoy time along the creek as the city celebrates its past, present and future.
