KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – A Maryville man will spend the next 31 years behind bars for a September 2023 stabbing that killed his step-grandfather, according to District Attorney General Ryan Desmond.
According to the Maryville Police Department, Bryan Terrence Noble stabbed John Salvati III after attacking John Salvati Jr. in a dispute. Salvati Jr., Noble’s step-grandfather, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Desmond said evidence indicated Salvati III woke up to a dispute involving his wife, father and Noble. He then found Noble in the hallway stabbing his father, Salvati Jr., and a struggle ensued until Noble stabbed him and fled from the home.
Noble was later arrested and charged with criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide.
On Monday, Desmond said Noble entered a plea agreement in Blount County Circuit Court and received a sentence of 31 years in jail to be 100% served.
