KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – A “boating incident” on Melton Hill Lake has prompted an emergency response, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Matthew Cameron. Details are still scarce, but he was able to offer some insight into what’s happening.
The water rescue call came in just after 12:00 p.m. at 3230 Williams Bend Road in West Knox County at Melton Hill Park.
One person in the boat was ejected, landing in the water, according to Cameron, when the incident happened Monday. That person was rescued, he said, but the TWRA representative wasn’t able to share their status.
On April 11, a 21-year-old’s death marked the fifth boating fatality in the state so far in 2026.
