The Claiborne Animal Shelter is going to be closed to the public until further notice to address “a situation.”
The shelter says they are taking the necessary steps to find the best path forward for animals and the community.
The closure includes all general visits, adoptions, and intakes of cats, kittens, and puppies.
Dog intakes are still being accepted but only by appointment.
Information regarding Saturday’s announcement is limited, it comes just days after it announced a pause in dog intakes due to a parvovirus outbreak.
The shelter reiterated that it is not closing for good, only until the situation is addressed and resolved.
