SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — A Sevier County grand jury has indicted a 19-year-old in connection with a deadly crash that killed one teenager and seriously injured two others last year.
According to court records, Nicholas Parker Kaeden Kelly faces 10 criminal charges stemming from an August 2025 crash that resulted in the death of Kevin Nathan Lopez Salinas and serious injuries to two additional victims.
The indictment includes:
- One count of vehicular homicide
- Two counts of vehicular assault
- Three counts of reckless endangerment involving a deadly weapon
- One count of DUI, first offense
- One count of DUI, first offense (per se)
- One count of reckless driving
- One count of driving on roadways laned for traffic
Prosecutors allege Kelly was driving under the influence at the time of the crash. Court documents state his blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.138%, well above Tennessee’s legal limit of 0.08%.
Investigators say the crash claimed the life of Kevin Nathan Lopez Salinas. Two other victims, identified in court documents as Kenneth Joel Lopez and Henry Guarzado, suffered serious bodily injuries.
The investigation was conducted by the Tennessee Highway Patrol with assistance from the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Kelly was arrested on Sept. 24 and released later the same day. Information regarding his next court appearance has not yet been announced.
The case will now move forward through the Sevier County court system as prosecutors pursue the charges outlined in the indictment.
