UPDATE (6/22/26): WASHBURN, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – The Grainger County Sheriff’s Office says a suspect has been identified in connection to a deadly shooting Friday evening, but that person has not yet been taken into custody.
Sheriff James Harville said the shooting happened in the 3000 block of Black Fox Road in the Washburn area, where a man was killed.
The victim was identified Sunday morning as Billy Nicely, according to Harville.
Officials have not released the name of the suspect.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting the sheriff’s office with the case, which remains active and ongoing.
