Morgan County, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – Several kayakers are safe after a multi-agency rescue effort along the Emory River in Morgan County Saturday evening.
According to Morgan County EMA Director Ethan Webb, crews were called to the Oakdale area just before 7 p.m. after receiving reports that a group of kayakers needed help. When responders arrived, four of the five kayakers were stranded on the opposite side of the river with no access to a roadway.
