KNOXVILLE, TN (TDOT / WOKI) – Motorists traveling on I-40 and I-275 North in Knox County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have a temporary impact on traffic.
Beginning on Thursday evening, July 17, several ramps to I-275 North in Knox County will be intermittently closed for short periods. This will allow crews to prepare for work on the upcoming replacement of the bridge over Elm Street/Bernard Avenue.
Those ramps are:
- I-40 East to I-275 North (Exit 387A)
- Henley Street to I-275 North
- I-40 West to I-275 North (Exit 387A)
These ramp closures will be in place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. through Friday, July 18.
Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 18, I-275 will be closed in each direction until 6 a.m. on Monday, July 21. This will be the second consecutive weekend closure of I-275 in this area. There will be a third weekend closure of I-275 in the Fall. This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
