Former Townsend City Manager Pleads Guilty to Misusing City Funds.

Townsend, TN (WOKI) The former City Manager of Townsend pleads guilty to misusing city funds.

The State says Danny Williamson misappropriated nearly $4,000 in city funds to buy things for himself.

The investigation started after city officials reported questionable purchases.

Investigators found Williamson used city credit cards to buy clothes, home goods and other things for his personal benefit.

Williamson has since repaid the city. He pleaded guilty to one count of theft of property and is now on supervised probation.
