Knoxville’s Festival on the Fourth Canceled

Downtown Knoxville’s Fourth of July festivities have been canceled. The Festival on The Fourth puts on an annual fireworks display along with music and other family activities, but today the festival was deemed impossible because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The city is working on alternative celebrations for the holiday, though no details have been announced. When talking about the event cancellation, Knoxville mayor Indya Kincannon said, “We all look forward to returning to pre-pandemic normal, but we must continue to make these difficult decisions for the time being.”
