KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) — Early voting for the August 6 Federal and State Primary Elections, Knox County General Election and Town of Farragut Municipal Election begins Friday, with more than 268,000 active registered voters eligible to participate.
The Knox County Election Commission announced that early voting starts at 9 a.m. Friday, July 17, at the Karns Senior Center and at 10 a.m. at 10 additional voting locations across the county.
Voters will be able to choose one of three ballot options:
- A Republican Federal and State Primary ballot combined with the Knox County General Election ballot.
- A Democratic Federal and State Primary ballot combined with the Knox County General Election ballot.
- A Knox County General Election ballot without selecting a partisan primary.
All voters will also participate in the State General Election, which includes retention elections for seven judicial positions. Residents living within the Town of Farragut will additionally vote in municipal races featuring three contests.
According to election officials, voters may see between 24 and 27 races on their ballots, depending on where they live. That’s significantly more than the May primary election, when voters generally had between 11 and 13 contests to consider.
