KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department said a bicyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a car early Sunday morning.
KPD said the crash happened just after midnight on North Cherry Street near the I-40 overpass.
Following an investigation, KPD said a Jeep was traveling north on Cherry Street when the bicyclist cut in front of it. The driver of the Jeep called 911 after the crash.
The bicyclist was taken to UT Medical Center with critical injuries but is expected to survive, the department said.
