KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) – East Tennesseans have the opportunity to help select the next t-shirt design for MEDIC Regional Blood Center as voting enters the final round of the organization’s annual student design competition.
After receiving more than 30 original submissions from local high school students, MEDIC has narrowed the field to four finalists. Community members can now cast their votes online through Nov. 1 to determine the winning design.
The winning artwork will be featured on MEDIC’s donor t-shirt for March 2027, and the student who created the design will receive a $500 e-gift card.

MEDIC officials say the contest is designed to encourage creativity among local students while helping raise awareness about the ongoing need for blood donors across East Tennessee.
The blood center serves as the primary blood supplier for 24 hospitals and air and ground medical transport services throughout a 23-county region.
Among the healthcare systems served by MEDIC are:
- Prisma Health Blount Memorial Hospital
- Covenant Health
- East Tennessee Children’s Hospital
- Tennova Healthcare
- UT Medical Center
Blood donations collected through MEDIC help support patients undergoing surgeries, cancer treatments, emergency trauma care and other critical medical procedures.
The winner of the design contest is expected to be announced in November.
Community members can vote for their favorite design online through the end of the voting period on Nov. 1.
