KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – Knoxville Police are searching for answers after a violent assault inside an apartment office Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to Southside Flats Apartments around 1:30 p.m. following reports of an attack. According to KPD, a woman told police a man entered the office and struck her multiple times with a tire iron before fleeing the scene.
The suspect is described as a Black man with dreadlocks and glasses. Police say the circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear.
The victim suffered severe injuries but officials say they are not considered life-threatening. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
At this time, no suspect has been identified, charged, or taken into custody. Investigators continue to work the case.
