KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department is conducting an active investigation after a 12-year-old boy was found dead at a Knoxville home Tuesday morning.
According to KPD, officers were called to a residence on Cecil Avenue around 7:50 a.m. to investigate the death of the child.
Police said the victim was a 12-year-old boy, but few details about the circumstances surrounding his death have been released.
Investigators said the boy’s cause of death remains undetermined and will be determined through further examination by the Knox County Regional Forensic Center.
Authorities have not announced whether foul play is suspected, and no additional information about the incident has been made public.
KPD said the investigation remains active and ongoing as detectives work to determine exactly what happened.
