KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that stemmed from a domestic incident at a Knox County residence.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies with the Patrol Division responded to a home on August 16, 2026, after receiving a report of a domestic-related incident that resulted in a death.
Following the initial response, the case was turned over to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, which is now leading the investigation.
Authorities announced that a warrant for Second-Degree Murder has been issued and the suspect is currently in custody.
Investigators have not released details about the circumstances surrounding the incident, including where in Knox County the homicide occurred or what led to the deadly encounter.
The identities of both the victim and the suspect are being withheld while authorities work to notify family members.
