KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) — The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Saturday morning on Adair Drive.
According to KPD, officers responded at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, to the 200 block of Adair Drive after receiving reports of a crash.
When officers arrived, they found a red Infiniti overturned on its side. The driver, an as-yet unidentified woman, was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Authorities said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash has not been determined, and investigators have not released additional details about what may have led to the vehicle overturning.
The investigation remains in its early stages and is being conducted by Knoxville Police Department crash reconstruction personnel, who are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
