LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – The Lenoir City Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of one man Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, officers responded to the 7600 block of Creekwood Park Boulevard around 3 p.m. following a collision involving two vehicles.
Investigators said a vehicle traveling northbound collided with another vehicle that was attempting to make a turn.
Police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel quickly responded to the scene and began providing lifesaving treatment to an adult male involved in the crash.
“Officers and personnel from the Lenoir City Fire Department and Priority EMS immediately began life-saving measures on an adult male involved in the crash,” LCPD said in a statement.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the victim was transported by Lifestar air ambulance to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Despite extensive efforts by first responders and medical personnel, authorities said the man later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
His identity has not yet been released.
Police said the second driver involved in the collision was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The circumstances that led to the crash remain under investigation by the Lenoir City Police Department, with assistance from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
