KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department says a man is in custody after a barricade situation late Sunday night.
Officers responded to a home in the 700 block of East Caldwell Avenue after receiving a report that a man had broken into the house and barricaded himself inside.
KPD said no one else was inside the home at the time, but authorities believed the man was armed with a knife.
Crisis Negotiators and Special Operations personnel were called to the scene to assist.
Around 11:20 p.m., police announced the man had been successfully taken into custody. No additional details about charges or injuries have been released.
