KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Knoxville woman following a multi-count indictment stemming from an investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse.
According to the sheriff’s office, Desiwray Jewell Davis, 33, was taken into custody after investigators conducted a months-long inquiry involving multiple specialized units.
The investigation began when the sheriff’s office received a Priority 2 cyber tip through its Digital Investigations Unit (DIU). Deputies assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force reviewed the information and launched an investigation.
Authorities said Deputies Vanwinkle and McMahan worked alongside Detective Kiser of the Family Crimes Unit to gather evidence and conduct interviews related to the allegations.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers collected evidence and seized electronic devices as part of the case.
The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services also became involved and removed children from the residence, placing them in a safe environment while the investigation continued.
Davis was subsequently indicted and arrested. She is currently being held at the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office praised the coordinated efforts of deputies, detectives and partner agencies involved in the investigation.
In a statement, the agency said protecting children remains one of its highest priorities and highlighted the importance of specialized investigative units working together to ensure the safety of vulnerable victims.
Additional details about the indictment have not yet been released.
