Knoxville, TN (WOKI) – A Knoxville family safely escaped an overnight house fire that left their home uninhabitable.
Knox County Communications District received a call reporting a house fire at 2030 Lawson Avenue at approximately 12:20 a.m.
When the first fire crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the top of the home. Firefighters quickly launched an aggressive attack on the fire, preventing it from spreading further through the structure.
Officials said the fire was knocked down by approximately 12:30 a.m., about 10 minutes after crews arrived on scene.
The home sustained fire, smoke and water damage and has been deemed uninhabitable.
All of the occupants were home when the fire broke out but were able to safely evacuate. No injuries were reported among the residents.
Fire officials also reported no firefighter injuries.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
