A woman is arrested after stealing a man’s car and wheelchair.
Officials said Jasmine Newman was living with a man acting as his caregiver, and was also romantically involved with him.
Officials said the man needed help being transported on a daily basis, so he agreed to buy Newman a car so she could take him places.
Officials said after the two bought a car, Newman took the man home and left with his wheelchair and car’s paperwork, but never returned. Newman did not return any of the phone calls from the man, and then he called police after he realized he had been deceived.
Newman is charged with theft and financial exploitation of an elderly or vulnerable person.
