MORGAN COUNTY, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) -District Attorney General Russell Johnson is asking the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to investigate what led up to a stabbing that left a Morgan County corrections officer dead.
The stabbing happened in February. Officials say inmate Reginald Steed stabbed Officer Dustin Pedigo while officers were performing cell door checks at Morgan County Correctional Complex, a Tennessee Department of Corrections facility.
Steed is currently serving a 27-year sentence for several charges, including aggravated assault.
