COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol is asking for help identifying a driver involved in a hit-and-run that happened Saturday evening.
According to THP, the crash happened on Saturday, March 7 at around 7:45 p.m. in the 1900 block of Highway 321 in the Parrottsville area of Cocke County when a car, believed to be a 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta, crossed lanes into the right shoulder and hit a bicyclist in the rear.
THP said the bicyclist was injured in the crash and had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the car left the scene without stopping to render aid or provide required information.
The car involved will have right front headlight and fog light damage, THP said, adding that it was last seen traveling south on Highway 321 toward Newport.
