This story courtesy of our news partner WVLT (Gray News) – Three service members have been killed and five were “seriously wounded” in the Iran operation, according to U.S. Central Command.
U.S. Central Command made the announcement Sunday, but did not provide additional information.
“Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions — and are in the process of being returned to duty,” CENTCOM said in the update. “Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing.”
The identities of the service members have not been released.
Iranian authorities say more than 200 people have been killed since the start of the U.S. and Israeli strikes that killed Khamenei and other senior leaders, according to the Associated Press.
Iran has also fired missiles at an ever-widening list of targets in Israel and Gulf Arab states in retaliation.
