Sevierville Police Department officers arrested a Northview Junior Academy student this morning, February 12, 2026 on a charge of Threats of Mass Violence on School Property or School Related Events.
Yesterday evening, February 11, SPD officers became aware of a menacing social media post that appeared to be directed towards a school staff member. Previous posts on the same social media account had made disparaging references towards the staff member.
Officers were able to gather information yesterday evening and this morning that culminated in the arrest.
Out of an abundance of caution, additional law enforcement personnel were at Northview Junior Academy this morning.
SPD will not be releasing additional information at this time due to the involvement of a juvenile.
All persons are considered innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
