Knoxville, TN (WOKI /KPD) – The Knoxville Police Department is investigating after a man was found dead from a gunshot wound outside of a home in the 1900 block of McCalla Avenue early Saturday morning.
At just after 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, KPD officers responded to the aforementioned location, finding a man dead in the backyard of the home.
Based on the findings of the still ongoing investigation being led by the KPD Homicide Unit, it is believed that the victim was shot by another man following a physical altercation. The suspect left the scene prior to officer arrival.
A suspect is not in custody at this time, though detectives are pursuing strong leads.
The investigation is in the early stages at this time.
