Knox Placing Animals With Seniors and Feed-A-Pet have partnered to launch their Howliday Donation Drive.
The goal of the drive is to help provide food and other essential supplies for pets who are owned by income-limited older adults in Knox County.
Organizers say Knox PAWS helps pair adoptable shelter pets with qualifying older adults and Feed-A-Pet makes sure those pets continue to receive food.
According to organizers, the following is a list of items that are needed:
- Dog Food
- Purina ONE Small Bites (8 lb. bag)
- Pedigree Small Bites (4 lb. bag)
- Pedigree Small Dog Tender Bites Pouches
- Cesar Small Breed Wet Dog Food Trays
- Beneful IncrediBites Small Breed Cans
- Cat Food
- Purina Cat Chow (3.15 lb. bag)
- Friskies (3.15 lb. bag)
- Friskies Gravy & Pate Cans
- 9 Lives Gravy & Pate Cans
- Other Items
- Cat litter (10 lb. bag, clay or lightweight)
- Small dog treats
- Small/medium pet beds
- Small/medium warm dog clothing
- Small soft squeaky dog toys
- Small/medium harnesses
- Retractable leashes
Monetary donations will also be accepted. According to organizers, $25 provides one month of food and litter for a cat, $50 provides one month of food for a medium-sized dog, $75 provides one year of heartworm prevention for a dog and $130 supports one year of grooming.

The drive is taking place now through Dec. 31.
