DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Cocke County attorney is charged after she was allegedly intoxicated when she went to a jail annex to speak to an inmate.
WVLT reporting that a deputy reported Charlotte Leibrock appeared intoxicated when she went to the Cocke County Jail Annex in Dandridge to speak with an inmate Sunday afternoon and jail staff said she fell into a wall and was unsteady on her feet.
When Sgt. Shane Hanshew with the Dandridge Police Department responded to the jail annex, he “observed her to have dilated pupils, dry mouth and thick, slurred speech,” the affidavit said. Leibrock then would not say what medication she had taken and “exhibited a lack of convergence in both eyes” when given a sobriety test.
Because of this, the affidavit said Leibrock was arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center without incident.
Leibrock was charged with public intoxication and is slated to appear in court on November 20th.
According to the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee, Leibrock has been licensed in Tennessee since 2007 and was publicly censured in 2023 after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct.
