Knox County, TN (WOKI) – A Knox County deputy injured in a head-on crash while on duty back in July will soon have his foot amputated.
Blue Line Tennessee reporting Deputy Matt Kirchner’s family made the gut-wrenching decision to move forward with amputation after surgery and rehab aren’t working as hoped.
On July 27, Deputy Kirchner and his probationary officer were responding to reports of a fight in Halls when the cruiser and another car crashed head-on. The driver of the other car, an 18-year-old man, was charged with driving under the influence.
Blue Line Tennessee has organized a GoFundMe, Support Knox County Deputy Matt Kirchner, to help support Kirchner and his family during this challenging time.
