UPDATE (10/2425): Bobby Wright Jr., DOB 12/26/1981, has been taken into custody and charged in the shooting death of a 27-year-old woman outside of a Washington Avenue apartment.
Based on continued investigation following the shooting, it is believed that Wright and the victim’s husband, a 36-year-old man, were involved in an altercation. During that altercation, Wright assaulted the male victim and the gun Wright was holding discharged a round that struck the female victim. Wright then left the scene in a red truck.
Wright was later located by KPD officers in the Merchant Drive area and taken into custody on Pleasant Ridge Road following a brief pursuit.
Wright has been charged with reckless homicide, aggravated assault and felon in possession of a weapon.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
