LOUDON, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – The Loudon Utilities Board has issued a 24-hour boil water notice, saying a large main break in the system has created possible “imminent and substantial health endangerment” to people in the some areas. The notice came around noon Wednesday.
The board listed the following locations, saying there was a “high potential that fecal contamination or other disease-causing organisms” had made it into the system:
- Butler Dr.
- Club Drive
- Fairway Drive
- Fore Drive
- Huffs Ferry Road
- Misty View Drive
- Overlook Lane
- Par Drive
- River Road
- Rivers Edge Drive
- Riverview Golf Drive
- Scenic View Drive
- Vineyard Cove Drive
- Westshore Drive
“Bring all the water to a rolling boil for at least three minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water,” a statement from the Loudon Utilities Board said. “Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.”
The notice runs through 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, the board said.
